Building the Future of Mountain Biking: Celebrating Phil’s Skills Bike Park Phase 2 Completion with COTA

Hello, Black Sage Dirt Works community! We have some fantastic news to share with you all. In our ongoing partnership with the Central Oregon Trail Alliance (COTA), we've reached another milestone: the completion of Phil’s Skills Bike Park Phase 2. This project is a true testament to our commitment to enhancing the mountain biking experience for everyone.

Phil’s Skills Bike Park Phase 2: A New Chapter in Mountain Biking

The completion of Phase 2 at Phil’s Skills Bike Park marks a significant advancement in our mission to develop inclusive and progressive mountain biking spaces. Thanks to months of meticulous planning, fundraising, and construction, we now have a mountain bike park that welcomes riders of all levels. Whether you're just starting or are a seasoned rider, this park offers something to help you hone your skills and enjoy the ride.

The new features at Phil’s Skills include a strider course for our youngest riders, a variety of rollers and jumps for all skill levels, a drop zone with progressive heights, and a flat zone perfect for coaching and group gatherings. The design, focused on 'sessionability,' encourages riders to repeat and master each feature, fostering confidence and skill improvement.

The Role of Black Sage Dirt Works and Our Partners

A huge shoutout to our Designer and Builder, Kyle Jameson, for bringing this vision to life. His expertise in creating durable and engaging features ensures that Phil’s Skills Bike Park will be a cherished destination for generations of riders.

We also want to recognize the immense support from the community, volunteers, and our sponsors. Special thanks to Deschutes Trails Coalition, Mt. Bachelor Play Forever Fund, and NewSun Energy for their major financial contributions. Your support has been invaluable in bringing this project to fruition.
